Paper Aeroplanes

Do children still make

paper aeroplanes

like we did,

fling them out of

attic windows

with paws and chins

propped on elbows
and wooden sills

to watch them sail

past sun-rubbed roofs

feathery tree branches

hankering glances

till at last they flutter

to the ground?

Or do they only
look at
their smartphones?
