Difficulties with Postage Stamps

Is there a trick,

some clever schtick,

an idea slick,

or wry gimmick,

a song, a lyric,

a favourite pick,

to calm the mood

and make things click?

The clock, each tick,

all senses prick,

the fingers thick,

the pulse so quick,

the heart half sick,

when I ample lick...

yet still the stupid stamp

won't stick.
